This is an ongoing list of all changes to the Superlist Beta, version by version.
Version 0.7.0 — December 22, 2022
🎶 We’re making a list, checking it twice … 🎶 And it looks like you’ve all been very, very good! Our last release of the year is filled with goodies. Just update Superlist to open these presents. 🎁
Do more with the Superlist integration for Slack
Reconnect your Slack workspaces in order to enjoy these improvements.
Create tasks with emoji reactions: React with ✍️ to turn a message into a task. Once it’s complete, we’ll add a ✅ to the original message.
Share task previews: Paste any task link in Slack to reveal the task title, due date, and more.
See what’s due: Open the Superlist app channel to view tasks by due date. You can also complete tasks, edit key details, or take a closer look in Superlist.
Add inline attachments to lists and tasks
Upload any file (up to 25MB): Add images or files to list and task content. Just click the block handler, type /, or drag and drop your file (or files!).
Move and download attachments: Once uploaded, tasks can be moved between lists and tasks. Anyone with access to your lists and tasks can view and download attachments.
Process tasks faster with a dedicated inbox
Bid farewell to My Tasks: The inbox is our next step toward helping you review your tasks, set your priorities, and plan out your days. Here you’ll find all open tasks assigned to you.
Curate and sort: Easily add other tasks to your inbox, even if they’re not assigned to you. Just right-click on a task and select Add to inbox. Currently you can sort inbox tasks based on creator, due date, list, and more. In the future, you can look forward to more ways to add to and organize your inbox.
Reach inbox zero: Get through your inbox by completing tasks, reassigning them, or right-clicking on a task and selecting Remove from Inbox.
Version 0.6.0 — December 7, 2022
The holidays are almost upon us, and the Superlist team is hard at work on several presents you can expect to open in the new year. (Think mobile support, better task prioritization, and more!) Since we want to avoid the naughty list, we’ve fixed one bug that resulted in lists and task details showing an empty page instead of your content.
Version 0.5.0 — November 24, 2022
We’re closing out November with several bug fixes. Thanks to everyone who took the time to report these issues.
The subtask counter below a task will update when subtasks are deleted.
Tasks and subtasks can no longer be moved into their own detail view.
Shared lists won’t auto-scroll for collaborators when another user is typing.
URLs pasted into lists are automatically clickable.
Bulleted and numbered lists can be indented by pressing
tab
An unnecessary scrollbar has been removed from the user menu.
Version 0.4.1 — November 14, 2022
Pardon the interruption — we’re releasing a small update to resolve two bugs. Now, list content will load when you try to open the currently open list. And when you move a task to another list, all content in the task’s detail view will accompany it.
Version 0.4.0 — November 10, 2022
Our engineering team is working diligently to make Superlist super stable and super fast. To that end, we’re updating our data structure and shipping backend updates that will make synchronization more reliable today and lay the foundation for offline support in the future.
Version 0.3.12 — October 27, 2022
We’re continuing our work on stability improvements and performance tweaks for Superlist on Mac. This version addresses some deep-rooted issues that can cause tasks in lists to disappear or lists to appear without titles in the sidebar. Over the next few weeks, we’ll prioritize this work in an effort to make Superlist even faster and more stable. We also made some changes to the way Superlist looks by improving the spacing and layout between task rows and text elements in lists.
Version 0.3.11 — October 12, 2022
There are no visible changes this week, but there’s plenty going on behind the scenes. Since our last release, we’ve continued working on the foundation for our mobile apps. We’ve also improved backend error handling, fixed a few bugs related to product analytics, and updated some of the third-party libraries we rely on.
Version 0.3.10 — September 30, 2022
In the past two weeks, we turned our attention inward and focused primarily on under the hood improvements to the app. In addition to a few bug fixes to keep Superlist running smoothly, we are laying the groundwork for new features and the forthcoming web and mobile versions.
Version 0.3.8 — September 14, 2022
Superlist's ability to detect if a user is online or offline has been improved, and we fixed issues where VPNs or certain IPs were blocked on local networks.
We continued improving keyboard navigation in the app. If you have a task selected in a list, pressing Command-Return will open the task's details. When pressing Tab in the task details, the cursor then jumps through the individual editable elements. You can also use Tab to indent bulleted lists further.
We fixed an issue with continuous task creation in My Tasks. Now, you can create multiple tasks by typing and pressing Return, without having to reselect the input field for each new task.
Superlist now has a Figma integration. You can enable it in Settings > Integrations to automatically turn comments on Figma files into tasks. There's also a new widget for managing your tasks directly in Figma. Please try it out and let us know what you think. Note that you first need to connect your Figma account in Superlist for the widget to work.
Version 0.3.7 — August 31, 2022
You wanted it darker, and we’ve got good news. If our regular dark theme isn’t dark enough for you, we now have a new theme: blackout. Go to Settings > Features > Appearance to enable it.
Additionally, this version introduces the ability to use Command-Z for undoing specific changes within a list — for example, if you accidentally deleted content in a list you created or in a task’s detail view.
Finally, the way the names of lists are displayed in the sidebar is improved. Now, lists with long titles will show more characters instead of cutting them off earlier.
Version 0.3.6 — August 17, 2022
It's now possible to drag items into lists in the Last viewed lists section of the sidebar.
When the detail view of a task is open, or if you’re in Settings, pressing the Escape key returns you to the previous view.
We fixed an issue where the title of a named list sometimes reverted to the default name (Untitled list).
When checking off subtasks, the subtask indicator underneath the parent task now updates correctly to reflect how many subtasks are complete.
Version 0.3.5 — August 3, 2022
A new keyboard shortcut, Command-3, enables you to seamlessly open the All Lists view.
It’s now possible to change a list icon when clicking on it directly in the sidebar.
Messages now contain timestamps, which indicate the time a message was written.
Version 0.3.4 — July 19, 2022
We added a Help menu, which you can access by clicking the question mark icon in the top-left corner of Superlist. From here, you can report issues, send feature requests, and join our Slack community. There are also direct links to our Help Center and a list of in-app keyboard shortcuts.
When collaborating on a list in real time, the list will no longer flash when more than one person is typing.
Clicking a push notification now brings Superlist to the foreground.
We fixed an issue where users had trouble inserting new text in a list. Before, they had to double-click on the hovering blue line. Now, a single click works as intended.
Message notifications are now fixed, so you’ll see all your messages both on the Messages overview page and within individual tasks.
Version 0.3.3 — June 22, 2022
It’s now possible to customize lists by clicking on the list’s Settings, where you can choose an emoji and upload a cover image.
To copy a link to a list, click on the list, find the three-dot menu in the top corner, click on it, and select Copy link.
To mark all messages on a specific task as read, click on Messages in the sidebar, right-click on the message thread in question, and select Mark as read.
Version 0.3.2 — June 8, 2022
It’s now possible to copy and paste text in lists and task details.
You can upload images to change the default cover image of a list.
Superlist now loads more quickly on startup and login.
We made some small design improvements.
Version 0.3.1 — May 25, 2022
Today we’re releasing our newest version of Superlist, featuring a fresh, new design. Our goal for the redesign was to make it more modern and innovative, with slick animations and an improved card layout that lets you navigate through subtasks by scrolling sideways. At the same time, we also worked hard to make the app feel more “Superlist-y,” and we hope this comes across in the way it looks and feels.
