Most task managers are intended for work or personal tasks, and they lack the flexibility and UX to handle both. With Superlist, you can manage what matters — from daily tasks, to passion projects, to complex teamwork — in one place. It’s fast, it’s intuitive, and it adapts to the way you work best.

So what’s a Superlist? It’s not just a list of tasks, and it’s not just a place to jot down notes. Superlists give you a way to structure your thinking and transform it into actionable steps. And with sections, you can group similar lists together to keep ideas organized. Let’s take a closer look at three key concepts.

Lists

Lists are rich documents that can contain tasks, text, images, and more. Set them up to reflect how you work best. If you’re ultra-structured, you can use headers and images to break up your list into different topic areas. If you prefer a lightweight approach, your list can be a series of tasks and subtasks.

Tasks

Tasks represent anything you want to get done. Tasks can be simple — like “Call mom” — or they can be multi-step projects, like updating your design portfolio.

In Superlist, tasks can contain a due date, label, assignee, and more. Hover over a task and click on the arrow to open your task details. Your task details page is similar to a list; you can add text, additional tasks, and images, but also attachments. If your task is shared with other Superlist users, you can talk things out with text and voice messages.

Sections

Sections offer a way to group and order your lists. Organize lists based on urgency, or divide work and personal lists into separate sections: It’s up to you! To keep your view neat and tidy, you can also remove lists from the sidebar. (They’ll still be accessible via Lists.)

By default, you’ll see one section titled My lists in your sidebar. This will contain any lists you’ve starred until you start manually curating your sections.

Hover over the sidebar and click New section to start organizing your lists. Right-click on existing sections to rename them, remove them, or add a new section below. Removing a section won’t affect the lists within.
